Professor Adesola Ogunniyi is an acclaimed scholar, professor, compassionate clinician, researcher, mentor and eminent Professor of Medicine at the College of Medicine. At various times, he served as temporary
adviser to the World Health Organization during the preparatory phase of global dementia research initiatives. He was appointed to the WHO Working Group on Neurocognitive Disorders for the Revision of ICD-10 Mental and Behavioural Disorders (April 2011). His research which has resulted in scores of papers and journals is in elucidating the risk factors for Alzheimer's disease using a cross-cultural approach, particularly the interactions between genes and environmental factors.
