Edna Williams is a social worker and Human Rights Consultant. She founded the Virgin Islands Alzheimer’s Association in Tortola, BVI, After hearing the story of a neighbor who had the disease, Edna decided to found an organization that would provide resources and support for people who are living with dementia and their friends and families. She runs events and activities throughout the Carribean island focused on Brain awareness and Alzheimer’s. She emphasizes both the importance of music in cognition and also the importance of holding events geared towards seniors.She has participated in several international conferences to make sure that diverse communities are represented in the global discussion of Alzheimer's. One of the goals moving forward with In Our Right Mind is to work with leaders like Edna Williams to establish relationships with the Caribbean Islands to bring awareness to the disease.
